Terms of Service
Last updated August 11, 2026
By using Atqin (أَتْقِنْ), you agree to these terms. Atqin is an independent, one-person project, provided as a tool to support your own Qur'an memorization and recitation practice.
What Atqin is — and isn't
Atqin listens to your recitation and gives you factual feedback on which words matched the Qur'anic text and which may have been missed or mispronounced, based on automatic speech recognition. It is a practice aid, not a certification of your recitation, not a substitute for a qualified teacher, and it makes no claim about tajweed, makhraj, or pronunciation accuracy beyond what the underlying speech model genuinely supports. Atqin never scores your iman, piety, or character — feedback is about recited words, nothing else.
Accounts
Reading and listening never require an account. Recite, Review, and syncing across devices require signing in with Google. You're responsible for keeping your Google account secure — Atqin never sees or stores your Google password.
Acceptable use
Use Atqin for its intended purpose: your own recitation practice. Don't attempt to disrupt the service, extract other users' data, or use it in a way that violates applicable law.
Content and licensing
The Qur'anic text, recitations, translations, and word-timing data displayed in Atqin come from established third-party sources, used under their respective licenses:
- Qur'anic text and Mushaf page layout — the Tanzil Project (CC-BY).
- Recitation audio — streamed from alquran.cloud and mp3quran.net (mp3quran.net's API is MIT-licensed).
- Word-level timing for supported reciters — normalized from the cpfair/quran-align project (CC-BY-4.0).
- Live speech recognition — NVIDIA's
stt_ar_fastconformer_hybrid_large_pcd_v1.0model (CC-BY-4.0). - Translation text — Saheeh International, displayed with attribution.
Atqin's own code, design, and the specific way this data is combined and presented belong to the project. We claim no ownership over the Qur'anic text itself.
No warranty
Atqin is provided "as is." Speech recognition is not perfect — it can miss a real mistake or flag a correct recitation as uncertain. Always use your own judgment, and treat Atqin as a supplement to, not a replacement for, learning from a qualified teacher.
Changes and termination
We may update these terms as the app changes; material changes will be surfaced in the app, not just this page. You can stop using Atqin and request account deletion at any time (see the Privacy Policy for how).
